It’s been a while, so let’s do a little #tbTuesday picture post. Back to BoysnBerry’s winter in Connecticut.

If you couldn’t already tell by my Gilmore Girl Gift Guide, I’m a bit infatuated with the lives of Lorelei and Rory Gilmore. Stars Hollow, Connecticut has always been a magical place I have longed to visit. Unfortunately, the entire town was made up by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

When Becca invited me to go with her to New England, (see Boston here) I jumped at the chance to see small town Connecticut and live out as much ‘Gilmore’ as this BoysnBerry possibly could!

We spent our Tuesday working, then ventured a few miles away to Old Wethersfield, CT. The town is straight out of Stars Hollow, right down to the gazebo in the snow. On recommendation from a fellow Girls Love Travel member, Heirloom Market was the first stop.  I half expected Lorelei to run past us to grab a cup of coffee! The Market had a cafe with plenty of seating for study or fellowship, a natural foods market, and seed store.

Old Wethersfield Country Store welcomed us with a “Come in, we’re awesome” sign and they did not disappoint. Locally made candles, soaps, shirts, and snacks were everywhere.

I thought it fitting to get the  Welles House Marketplace Winter in Connecticut scent.

We had dinner at Lucky Lou’s Bar and Grill. The food was as delicious as the building was adorable. I devoured a Lucky’s Chopped Salad and Lemon Honey Phylo Pie. Our waiter, Guy, was gracious enough to entertain all of Becca’s ‘Northerner’s’ questions as well as take some pictures for us so that not every image we had was a selfie.

The next day we ventured to the Mark Twain House. The tour was very educational and entertaining, but I was most excited about my new cat socks and pin. The man loved cats and I love him for it!

In keeping with our Gilmore Girl obsession, New Haven and Yale had to be on the list. Lunch was at the original Frank Pepe’s Pizzeria: four cheese and their special clam pizza.

The clam pizza was just as weird as it sounds. But hey- I can say I tried it.

When in New Haven, do as they do.

Yale’s Old Campus took me out of Stars Hollow and threw me straight into Hogwarts! I can’t imagine getting to live there!

We walked all around Old Campus, checked out a library, and added a Yale pin to my collection before grabbing drinks at Blue State Coffee. Everyone we saw seemed to be tunneling their inner Hermione Grangers or Rory Gilmores. Each table piled with laptops or giant textbooks. Meanwhile, Becca sang along to the radio and I freaked out when facebook informed me there was a zoo where I could shake hands with otters. We real cool.

We really embraced our inner Gilmores as we walked back with cups in hand. The campus was just as magical at night.

We finished our trip with a little road trip to Mystic Seaport for fine dining and a Slice from Heaven at Mystic Pizza.

If you haven’t already be sure to check out my post from our Boston experience and Becca’s recount of the umbrella incident and other Boston memories.

Have you ever been to Connecticut? What all should we add to our do to list next time?
