It’s another year and that means new beginnings. I think we were all ready for 2016 to end. I haven’t done a goal post in a while, and while I’m sure you are all dying to know my dreams and goals I will do my best not to bore you with too many details. So here are the things I would like to focus on in 2017.

Christ

Last year wasn’t my best year, spiritually speaking. I let my self slack in my quiet times, and that reflected in the rest of my life too. My quarter-life crisis year was definitely entertaining, but the focus was most often self-centered and not Christ-centered. I’m excited about starting 2017 at Passion Conference this week in Atlanta. (I know I’m too old. I signed up as a chaperone. Let’s move on.) And when I return home I begin a 6-week study, “In the Wait”.

Reading

I made it through five of the Potter books in 2016 and just started The Half Blood Prince. I plan to finish the series in January, then continue with my most recent “Someday, Someday, Maybe” by Lauren Graham (of Gilmore Girls). Another on my list to read this year is Uninvited, by Lysa Turkeurst, and I also have to finish Money, by Tony Robins as soon as possible so I can start applying my new knowledge to the next goal.

Money

Save Save Save. I’ve used YNAB for a few years now. It’s similar to Mint, but I prefer YNAB’s interface, reports, and methods. YNAB has an app for your desktop, tablet, and even Apple Watch. It’s pretty much an envelope system for your money, without carrying the cash around. Dave Ramsey always said cash is better than a card because a card is easier to spend. I disagree. With YNAB I’ve been able to allocate my money, see my spending habits, adjust, and save. I’ve budgeted and saved for my camera, laptop, gun, and trips, and investments. I have a four-month emergency fund set in place and it’s almost a game now to save.

WellsWorks-

So many goals. Website, shipping methods, set up systems to make the order-build-ship process smoother, furniture care kits, stock some merchandise (stickers, patches, etc), and much more. Be sure to enter this month’s giveaway on our facebook page.

Travel-

Get the passport. Book the flight. Meet new people. I would love to see more travel in my future, US or further.

Minimize-

I’ve got a lot of stuff. I want to leave a good impression on this world but not a large carbon footprint. Time to donate clothes, books, etc. Experiment with capsule wardrobes, no waste methods, learn to tidy up and keep it that way.

Health-

Let’s try this again. Eat healthy. Work out. Jessica is focused on health too so hopefully we can hold each other accountable. Why is it so hard!?!

Besides the above I’ve still got work to do on my 101 in 1001 which I’ve already revised a few times.

What are y’all’s goals for 2017? Resolutions. Intentions. Whatever you call them…
